| In Memory of Gene Leininger May 28, 2007 In mid-February SAMOA member Gene Leininger was diagnosed with cancer. He remained positive and upbeat while treatments were scheduled. Hopes for his recovery failed on Monday, May 28 when he passed away peacefully in his home with his wife and children at his side. SAMOA members since May 2001, Gene, with his wife Jan, enjoyed driving their 1991 Silver Miata on SAMOA runs. They regularly attended the monthly meetings and were always willing to welcome new members. They both enjoyed participating in various special events including the Chili Cook-off, Holiday Party, the July 4th Parade, and Scrabble Scramble.
